Important Information About Billing & Insurance

Midwives and birth centers typically charge an all-inclusive fee for their services, which is paid directly to them by a set due date. This bundled fee covers a wide range of care and is discounted because it does not involve upfront insurance billing.

If you choose to use insurance, claims must be submitted after care is complete using itemized services (such as visits and procedures). Because of this, the total amount billed to your insurance is often higher than the all-inclusive fee.

The fee you pay upfront acts as a retainer and will be applied toward your patient responsibility (such as deductible or coinsurance). Any reimbursement depends on your specific insurance plan, including allowable amounts and coverage details.

At this time, reimbursement amounts cannot be estimated and are only determined after claims are fully processed.
